Peuple a genoux, attends ta delivrance!
Noel! Noel! Voici le Redempteur!
Noel! Noel! Voici le Redempteur!
People kneel down, wait for your deliverance.
Christmas, Christmas, here is the Redeemer,
Christmas, Christmas, here is the Redeemer!
The following are the lyrics many know. Though they are different from the above, the music is the same.
Fall on your knees; O hear the Angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born
O night, O Holy night, O night divine!
Composer: Adolphe Adam (1847)
Lyrics: Placide Cappeau (whose original title was “Cantique de Noël”)
Translated from French to English by John Sullivan Dwight.

My favorite Christmas song. Merry Christmas to you and your family, L. Marie.
Same to you, Jill! 😄
A song and message that pierces deep into the soul…
Buon’ Natale, cara mia sorella.
Grazie mio dolce amico! 😄
Joyeux Noel, ma chere amie, et Bonne Année! Or something like that… 😉
Merci beaucoup! And I’ll just throw in Feliz Navidad! 😄
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Feliz Navidad! Feliz Natal!
Gracias, Lyn! Hope your celebration of Hanukkah was lovely, despite the issues of the year.
I love O Holy Night– although I often have a hard time singing that one high note. (I’m an alto.) Merry Christmas.
Congratulations, Marian. Enjoy.
I am an alto too, Nicki. So I could never hit the high note. My voice squeaks. 😄
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
When I saw this this morning, I immediately thought of YOU:
I also posted it on my blog.
And I love O Holy Night! Such a lovely melody.
Oh Nancy, that was so adorable! Wish I could knit one of those ornaments or the Christmas trees with their little tree skirts. Too adorable for words! Thank you for the link!
Merry Christmas to you! 😄
I thought it would be right up your alley. Glad you enjoyed.
I did!
The “minuit Chretien” was sung at the beginning of the midnight mass every Christmat of my youth , Linda.
People rushed ( at feet ) to be at the church at time . And they were shivering when the tenor was singing . The church was crowded and silent. oh!Marvellous memoris .
I think this song is not sung at the mass since the council 1962 ( not sure )
So nice to hear that about the song, Michel. I’m so glad you commented. I listened to someone sing it online. So beautiful.
Merry Christmas to you and Janine! 🎄
Love ❤
Michel
Love to you both! 🎄❤️
Congratulations Marian
Hope the New Year is good for you, Andy!
And for you too, Linda 🙂
Thank you!
